AIJMS YOUTH AND PARENT SYMPOSIUM FOCUSES ON SUPPORTING GUAM’S MIGRANT POPULATION
The English as a Second Language (ESL) program at Agueda I. Johnston Middle School hosted the 5th annual Youth and Parent Symposium on January 20th, 2018. The symposium is an opportunity for stakeholders to take part in a meaningful and empowering dialogue about how to better support Guam’s migrant population and how to ease student transitions so they are better equipped to become successful leaders in our community. The symposium features guest speakers including AIJMS principal Rebecca Perez, University of Guam TRiO director Yoichi Rengiil, Terlynn Thibmad and keynote speaker Dr. Ansito Walter. Refreshments, performances and prizes will also be featured at the symposium, which takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at the AIJMS dining hall.
