AIJMS Classes canceled for Monday, September 23, 2019

“The Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS), in consultation with the Guam Department of Education (GDOE) and Harvest Christian Academy, announces that classes will be canceled at Ordot Chalan Pago Elementary School (OCPES), Agueda Johnston Middle School (AIJMS), and Harvest Christian Academy on Monday, September 23, 2019. The decision was made after one case of locally-acquired dengue virus was identified at AIJMS on September 11, and at both OCPES and Harvest Christian Academy on September 21.”

AIJMS – Classes Resume tomorrow September 17, 2019

“In order to reduce the occurrence of mosquito breeding and biting​, DPHSS, GEPA, and a contracted vendor conducted insecticide application at Agueda Johnston Middle School (AIJMS) and Ordot Chalan Pago Elementary School (OCPES). The spraying of these campuses started on Sunday and was completed today. AIJMS and OCPES will resume normal operations and students will return to classes on Tuesday. ” More information can be found below (PDF Document):

Pacific Historic Parks 43rd Annual Pacific Circle Consortium Scholarship Recipients

CONGRATULATIONS to our three Agueda teachers, left to right, Patricia Quichocho (Health), Lourdes Farfan (Reading), and Jonah Gumataotao (7th GradeSocial Studies) for being named the scholarship recipients of the Pacific Historic Parks 43rd Annual Pacific Circle Consortium, to be held on July 8-12 here on Guam at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Each teacher will be awarded $250 towards their registration fee, lunch for the events, and the opportunity to attend all their sessions for the PCC conference. Kudos to our Agueda teachers!!! Yokohama High School Cultural Exchange

Agueda I.  Johnston Middle School hosted 140 Japanese students from Yokohama High School today at their campus, pairing them up with Agueda’s Kulu Natibu dancers and Journalism students.  Thank you to Dr. Benjamin Santiago for coordinating the event, and a special thanks  goes out to our teachers, staff, and parents for their active  support during the planned activities.  Biba Pirates!!! -Dr. Rebecca Perez (AIJMS Principal)
