Si Yu’os Ma’åse, Mrs. Thamala Chaco

Hafa Adai Pirate Family,

Today was Mrs. Thamala E. Chaco’s last day at Agueda I. Johnston Middle School. Students lined the Gym to Building B and breezeway walkway to clap her through the hallway and wish her well as she retired from the Guam Department of Education after 30 years of service.

Earlier this month, faculty honored Mrs. Chaco at a faculty meeting. She received a Certificate of Retirement and a school plaque that reads Si Yu’os Ma’åse, presented in recognition of her distinguished service and commitment to AIJMS. Pirate Familia also celebrated with a cake that read Happy Retirement Mrs. Chaco, 30 Years of Service.

The tribute shared that day said it simply. Butterflies. Bees. Binadu. Ants. Pirates. And you. You taught. You inspired. You made a difference. Thirty years. One incredible legacy.

Thank you, Mrs. Chaco, for the years you gave our students and this campus. We wish you happiness, good health, and rest in the years ahead.
